Tzatziki flavoured with Garlic, Lemon and Mint
This delicious mint infused tzatziki will add a wonderful freshness to almost any snack or meal. Made with simple wholesome ingredients and with no cooking time at all, you will want to make it every day.
What is Tzatziki?
Tzatziki is a Greek dish, commonly served as a meze, but that can be used as a side dish, sauce or dip. Its main ingredients are traditionally cucumber and greek yogurt. However, the addition of salt, garlic, herbs and olive oil, play a vital role in creating its distinctive taste.
There are a few ways you can make tzatziki. For example, the mint in this tzatziki recipe can be switched out for another herb such as parsley, coriander or thyme. Or apple cider vinegar can be used instead of lemon juice. And of course, the quantities can be adjusted according to your preference (I tend to add a little extra garlic).
This recipe is my favourite, but it’s nice to be able to change it up, especially if you want to play with pairing flavours. The mint and lemon juice combination in this recipe make it perfect with lamb, whereas I prefer to use coriander when making it to go with my falafel.
Praise for Tzatziki
All in all, tzatziki is an amazing dish that ticks all the boxes. It is affordable, quick and easy to make, delicious, versatile and super duper healthy!
