Halloumi is typically used in Greek cuisine, and this special cheese is semi-hard making it perfect for grilling. It does not completely melt, making it a gooey companion to the bacon. The cheese is composed of either goat or sheep milk or a combination of both, helping add benefits to the skewers.
Make sure the cheese gets soft when grilling and serve the skewers while the halloumi is warm. You can also choose to bake these skewers.
You can personalize the taste experience by adding spices of your choice on the bacon as well as halloumi. Some spices to try adding include garlic, thyme, black pepper, as well as lemon juice.
You can also glaze the skewers with pineapple juice, sugar, or your favorite sauces.
These skewers can serve to be a healthy snack. Bacon is rich in protein, vitamins such as the B vitamins important for heart and brain functioning, selenium, phosphorus, and other minerals. It is also a source of Omega 3, helping reduce inflammation and the risk of heart disease and stroke. It is a great way to satisfy food cravings and keep full.
