It’s a great way to use overripe bananas, and it strikes that perfect balance between comfort food and crowd-pleasing treat. Plus, it’s endlessly customizable. From the toppings you sprinkle before baking to the way you serve each slice, you can truly make it your own.
Simple Ingredients, Maximum Flavour
This version of banana bread is tender, moist, and rich in banana flavour, thanks to mashed ripe bananas and a splash of sour cream. A touch of cinnamon adds a warm depth, and optional walnuts offer a satisfying crunch. It’s just sweet enough to enjoy as a snack or light dessert, yet not so sweet that it can’t be served with savory pairings like cheese or butter.
Serving Suggestions and Delicious Twists
Serve your banana bread warm with a pat of salted butter, or go for something unique—try it with cream cheese, a spoonful of your favourite jam, or even turn it into French toast for a decadent brunch. Crushed nuts or seeds on top add visual appeal and crunch. However you choose to enjoy it, this banana bread is sure to become a go-to recipe in your baking rotation.
