When we say this will be on your menu every week, we mean it! This scrumptious Beef Schnitzel is too good to not make on a regular basis. With its crunchy coating and tender meaty middle, this schnitzel is the perfect weeknight meal for when you are craving a bit of meaty indulgence!
What is Beef Schnitzel?
Beef Schnitzel is a thin slice of meat that is usually tenderized by pounding it, and are then breaded, and fried. Usually schnitzels are crumbed in a flour, egg, and breadcrumb mixture, but this recipe uses only one whole egg, two egg whites and breadcrumbs.
Quick and Easy!
This recipe suggests that you buy frying steak which is already quite thin- this saves you the step of having to pound the meat yourself. Once you have coated your steak in the eggs and breadcrumbs, all you have to do is fry them for 4 minutes on each side (or a bit longer if you prefer your steak more well done) until the crumb is golden brown. In total this dish takes about 45 minutes to make, most of this being your preparation time. The cooking time is fairly quick.
Garnish your beef schnitzel with micro greens and serve your crispy and tender schnitzels with a sauce of your choice- we suggest a creamy mushroom sauce or a cheese sauce.
